Hey there! We are Meagan and Travis. We began our sailing journey in 2018 when we purchased a 1986 38’ Alubat Ovni in Grenada sight unseen. We sailed for 8 months from Grenada to Florida before selling our boat. We moved back to land life for 3.5 years, but are now back and ready to set sail again! This time we have purchased a Moody 425 in Rio Dulce, Guatemala. Again, sight unseen (this is seeming to be a common theme for us). Please give us a like and check out our other social media links to keep up with our progress!
A little about us specifically: Travis was born and raised in Oregon but fell in love with sailing on the Great Salt like, oddly enough. He graduated from Oregon State with a degree in Business Administration where he worked in medical device to save up the money for this grand adventure. He gained most of his experience on a Catalina 25′ that he and his good friend Matt owned for several years. He sat for his USCG Masters 50 ton this winter and couldn’t be more exited to put what he learned in play and live out his dreams of sailing around the world.
Meagan was born in California and raised in a suburb of Salt Lake City. She played collegiate soccer at Northeastern State University, but after 5 ACL tears had to hang up her cleats. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology and went on to achieve a Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling from the University of Utah. Fostering animals, traveling, and writing are some of her hobbies. Thanks so much for taking time to check us out!
